Since our 6th graders had their field trip to the Franklin Institute back in January, Mrs. English had the idea to throw a grade level Pizza Party with not just pizza, drinks and snacks, but added yard games, board games and Ice Pops!! Our kiddos were all smiles and enjoyed 2 periods outside eating, playing various games and socializing without electronics!!! A big thank you to administration for approving this reward and to our PILLA Staff for helping serve and monitor the students!

Good morning 6th grade parents. We apologize, but our videographer is having technical difficulties broadcasting the 6th grade awards ceremony. We should be able to post a link to the recorded video later.

Mrs. Bertoldi's 8th-period class collaborated with Mrs. Tammy's class to bring real-world applications to their Second Step SEL teachings. The students learned to work together toward a common goal. They were taught to wash fruits, cut them, and create fruit kabobs—a healthy and delicious treat.
During the activity, Mrs. Bertoldi's students were informed about the importance of using pictures as a communication tool, which is particularly beneficial for autistic students who may find it challenging to understand words. Mrs. Tammy's class also focused on social cues and language skills, helping students overcome these challenges to navigate society better. By supporting and working together, students from Mrs. Bertoldi’s class experienced the value of inclusivity, while Mrs. Tammy’s class learned to understand the warm feeling of friendship.
