Students and staff at Little Lamb Preschool were able to enjoy real-life world experiences on a Duffield trip to the farm market. Parents, staff, and teachers were able to enjoy a pumpkin-picking hayride and learning about animals on a farm. This trip was followed by a visit from Miss Gloucester County Titleholder Faith Pierre Charles, who read a story to our students about being accepted and celebrating everyone’s differences. Children were able to understand that we are all unique and carry a special gift inside of us, and it is OK to accept others for their unique features and talents.

Little Lamb students & staff celebrated the Week of RESPECT with a whole week of fun-filled learning and excitement! Little Lamb had a full week of engagement and culturally diverse activities to celebrate Italian Heritage & Hispanic Heritage Month. They started their week off with A pirate-themed magic show By Gary Saunders and a sports day celebrating “togetherness as a team.” They ended their week by wearing pink in honor of breast cancer awareness month as students celebrated being kind and supporting their friends and family.

Students in Ms. Baines' 7th grade Accelerated ELA class at Veterans Memorial School participated in a Mock Trial where they applied their knowledge of criminal trials and "The Tell-Tale Heart" to determine whether Mr. Narrator was innocent or guilty. Students conducted research on specific trial roles, the insanity plea, and prepared for the Mock Trial. One class found Mr. Narrator guilty while the other found him to be innocent through reason of insanity.

Students in Ms. Donnelly's 5th-grade class at Mennies Elementary School had a special visitor, Ms. Aguilar, who read a story and brought in a piñata to help students learn about Hispanic Heritage Month. The students loved learning about their classmate's culture, and the piñata added some extra fun to the experience!

Ms. Capelli's class at Sabater Elementary School enjoyed a Portrait of a Graduate lesson on communication!

Sabater Elementary School pulled out all the stops for our grand finale to Hispanic Heritage Month with a fantastic assembly for all students! We were thrilled to host Art in Motion Dance and Fitness, who captivated the audience with traditional dances from various Spanish-speaking countries. Students not only got to watch but also had the chance to learn these dances firsthand!
Our celebration didn’t stop there—students proudly wore clothing representing their country of heritage, making the day a colorful showcase of our diverse cultures. To top it off, students enjoyed a delicious lunch with flavors from different Spanish-speaking countries, bringing a taste of tradition to our celebration.
A huge thank you to the Sabater Team for making Hispanic Heritage Month such an unforgettable success!

First-grade students from Petway had an exciting time during their fall field trip to Duffield’s Farm Market! They enjoyed a hayride and picked their own pumpkins, immersing themselves in the harvest season. The students explored the farm and learned about animals like goats, sheep, and chickens. They also navigated the corn maze, making the trip a fantastic opportunity to learn about the fall season and the importance of local farms.

Attention winter cheerleaders!

Collaboration and teamwork at Wallace Middle School! Mrs. Beckman’s 7th and 8th grade Social Studies students have been learning about finding sources for research. Mrs. Loveland, Library Media Specialist, and Mrs. Beckman co-taught a lesson about the Dewey Decimal System used in libraries. Students completed a Scavenger Hunt where they went in search of a book using only the call number. They then pulled information from the books they found that is relevant to researchers. The skills that the students learned will not only be helpful for their research projects but also in their journey beyond Wallace.

On September 27th, the VHS JROTC had a special guest, the AFJROTC Regional Director, Lt. Col James Garcia. Lt. Col. Garcia is responsible for oversight of 25 units in the mid-Atlantic, visited the NJ-20091 unit for a pre-inspection, and reviewed the unit inspection checklist with cadets. Lt. Col. Garcia got to know each of the Alpha Flight leaders and went over their assigned job duties. The cadets also gifted him two Run for Ramirez shirts from the first and second runs. Shortly after, he discussed what the cadets wanted to pursue as a career after high school and gave them advice and words of encouragement on how to pursue them. He talked to every flight in JROTC, wanting to know what they do outside of JROTC, like sports and clubs. Overall, Lt. Col. Garcia was satisfied with what he observed and looks forward to returning on December 11th for their annual formal unit inspection.
Also, the VHS JROTC is doing a supply drive for the citizens of North Carolina who got hit by Hurricane Helene. If anyone is interested in helping these citizens, please contact Mrs.Muller and MSgt Eubanks at 194-6800 ext. 2898.

Who will be Miss Monogram 2024? 🐔
One of five Vineland High School seniors will be named "Miss Monogram" and reign over the annual Homecoming Day football game when VHS hosts Highland High School on Saturday, October 19 at Gittone Stadium.
The new queen, selected by voting in senior homerooms, will be announced at halftime.
The finalists are: Timara Bunton, Dulce Flores, Zaria Gould, Kylie Hague, and Alesandra Parent.
All seeking the title had to meet the following criteria:
• Member of the Monogram Club;
• Varsity letter (sports or band);
• Minimum 2.5 grade-point average;
• No suspensions; and
• Not on any ineligible list
The field was narrowed to five finalists after judging by a panel of teachers based on appearance, poise, speech (confidence, eye contact, and correct grammar), and quality of response to questions the contestants received in advance, said the advisors.
The Homecoming Event is sponsored by the VHS Monogram Club, established in 1950 by the late Anthony DiTomo, VHS Athletic Director at that time.
A parade will kick off the festivities at 10 a.m. in front of Christ the Good Shepherd (Sacred Heart) Church and end at Gittone Stadium. The procession will be traveling west along Landis Avenue, making a left onto West Avenue, then right onto Montrose Street before entering Gittone.
The football game vs. Highland will follow at 1 p.m., with Miss Monogram crowned at halftime.

This week Dallago Preschool celebrated the Week of Respect, Hispanic Heritage Month, and Fire Prevention Week!
Students focused on lessons for the Week of Respect that included working on learning how to respect themselves, others, and their school.
They celebrated the end of Hispanic Heritage Month with a dress down day to showcase the colors and cultural outfits from Hispanic countries.
They then finished off the week with a visit from the Vineland Fire Department for fire prevention week. Students viewed the fire truck, were taught fire safety skills, and were able to see the firefighters in, and out, of their fire gear.
It was a busy, eventful, and exciting week for Dallago students!
