Wallace Middle School's latest monthly theme day was a blast! The school came together for Barbie & Ken Day, showing off vibrant shades of pink. It was amazing to see the enthusiastic participation from both students and staff.

Join us in extending a warm welcome to our two new Assistant Principals at Vineland High School!
Jamaal Hall, who has been a dedicated school social worker at VHS for the past four years, is now taking on the role of Assistant Principal for the Tanner (9-10) Building. We are also excited to welcome James Pierce, who is joining us from Pilla Middle School, as he takes on the role of Assistant Principal at VHS South. Together, they bring fresh insights and a wealth of knowledge to our school community.

Thank you to the members of the Vineland High School AFJROTC, Sgt. Pilla Middle School, and Veterans Memorial Middle School students for leading the flag salute at Wednesday's Board of Education meeting! 🇺🇸

Last Friday, first grade students from Ms. Murawski & Mrs. Negron’s classroom at Rossi Elementary School met with students from Mrs.Trionfo/Mr.Cervi’s 3rd grade class. They made their own mummy mix, worked on an eye-spy page, and a coloring page while watching a fall movie, along with versions of other snacks. Students had fun, and all enjoyed the mummy mix! (Mummy mix: mini marshmallows: ghost guys; pretzels: broken bones; chocolate chips: bits of bat; Frito’s: bat wings; sunflower seeds: toe of crow, popped corn: mini brains; m&m’s: zombie eyes, corn Chex: cobwebs).

The Vineland High School October Dancers of the Month are Lyla Rodriguez, Cameron Amberths, and Morgan Williams. These 3 Freshman Dancers bring such enthusiasm for learning to the dance studio each day! They each auditioned and were selected to perform in our Pep Rally Performance this month and put in countless after-school rehearsals to prepare for that performance!

Last week Miss. Picconi's (K-2) and Mrs. Almanzar's (3-5) ID Mild classrooms at Sabater Elementary School took a trip to ShopRite. The students shopped for items on their shopping lists and practiced reading the prices of different foods. They then made sandwiches with some of the items they purchased!

Mrs. Rowe's class at Mennies Elementary School had fun doing hands-on fall activities. Students love getting messy making slime and working together!

On Friday, October 27, Durand students and their families enjoyed a night of fun at the school’s 17th Annual Fall Festival. With an estimated 400+ in attendance, the two-hour event was a Fa-BOO-lous time for all!!
Although costumes were not necessary, many students could be seen dressed up and out of their school uniforms for this special evening. As families arrived and departed they were greeted by the school mascot, Skipper the Dolphin and members of the school spirit team, a first for the festival!
The annual event fills the hallways and outdoor grounds of the school. In the cafeteria, guests could make sand art, decorate pumpkins and get balloon animals. Of course they could also purchase yummy snacks like funnel cake, cotton candy and popcorn to name a few! Hallways were filled with carnival games and some specialty rooms like Madame Boo Shay’s Fortune Telling and the extremely popular Haunted Room. Most popular is the opportunity to throw a bowl of pudding at principal, Mr. Greco. With stacks of tickets in hand, students line up throughout the night to take their shot. While outside, students and their families could pick a pumpkin in the patch, bounce away in the bounce house, take a trip on the hayride, or stroll through the bus lane turned trunk-or-treat!

Today, Mrs. Rakotz and Miss Burns's 5th graders at Rossi Elementary School joined Ms. Stretch and Mrs. Lamkin's kindergarten class for spooky science experiments. Students worked together to make an overflowing magic potion. The teachers then assisted the students in activating homemade lava lamps in a variety of colors! Our time together was BOO-tiful!

In Library at Barse Elementary School, Kindergarten and First Grade students listened to the story "Walter's Wonderful Web" and learned about shapes and determination. Then they colored their own spiders and explored different materials to wrap around their triangle frame to create a unique web for their spider.

We enjoyed the Month of October here at D'Ippolito Elementary School. We honored students who show the most Respect through our BRAVO character education program.
Bravo stands for:
Be
Respectful
And
Value
Others
Our students who display Respect were awarded this month by having some downtime and making a Thankful Tree in the cafeteria along with a snack. All students had a Bravo Dress Down Day and got to wear their favorite sports team shirt. Here at D'Ippolito School, we show sportsmanship by being Respectful!
We also celebrated World Unity Day on October 18th by wearing Orange. Being United together comes with being Respectful to others. We Unite together by lifting each other up through Respect.

D’Ippolito Elementary School had its annual Spooktacular Event sponsored by the Vineland Education Association through a PRIDE grant last week. We had over 17 areas in our school decorated for our event so students and families could go around dressed up in their favorite costumes and collect prizes and candy! Over 300 people attended, and many of the parents spoke of how wonderful the event was this year. We hope to continue this tradition for our families and hope to make it bigger and even better next year!

Students in Mrs. Freese & Mrs. Tarsatana’s First Grade ICR class at Mennies Elementary School enjoyed various learning activities during their Fall Fun Day! Centers included: Write the Room, Spin & Build a Word ( identify real/nonsense words), sequence the story The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything, Building a Sentence, Alphabetical Order, Batty Math (greater than/less than craft), as well as carving a Jack-O-Lantern!

Mrs. Kozub’s 8th grade Art students at Memorial School are learning sewing techniques and creating pocket hug hearts for our upcoming ceremony honoring veterans on November 6th!

Every month, Rossi Elementary School has a different service project. For the month of October, we had a collection of loose change and sold lollipops. The grade level that collected the most change earned an ice cream party. We raised and donated $2,000 for Breast Cancer to Team Jolly Jugs.

At Petway Elementary School, Art Teacher Ms. Marcacci and Spanish Teacher Señorita Pulman collaborated on a Día de los Muertos celebration, including students from all grades. Students learned about the Latin American holiday (celebrated on November 1st and 2nd) and made papel picado with Señorita Pulman. While students in Ms. Marcacci’s class made various ofrenda elements depending on their grade level. Students in fifth and fourth grades made calaveras, third grade made velas, first and second graders made cempasúchil (marigold flowers), and kindergarten made mariposa (butterflies). The art club worked on creating food offerings and 3D calaveras made from air dry clay. An ofrenda was placed in the atrium filled with student work and pictures sent in by families of loved ones who are no longer with us. Students become more globally and culturally aware as they celebrate and remember those no longer with us in this beautiful Latin American tradition.

The first grade students at Petway Elementary have begun their Service Learning project for the year by decorating lunch bags for the Vineland Soup Kitchen. The lunch bags are decorated with fall cheer. The project initiative is for the students to participate in activities to gain an understanding of the issues of people in need in our area and provide necessary items to support them, corresponding to the Empathy competency from Vineland’s Portrait of a Graduate. Petway First graders are learning about communities and community helpers. They are learning how their service can help our families in need in our community.

Students in Ms. Markman's first-grade beginner ESL classes at Sabater Elementary School have been learning about school supplies and singular/plural nouns! Ms. Markman filled a big plastic tray with many supplies, and students took turns stealing one item (and putting it into a bag), and then asking the thief questions to identify the stolen goods.
