Thanks to a generous donation from BookSmiles, students at Sabater Elementary had the opportunity to choose books to take home and enjoy over the summer. We’re grateful to BookSmiles for supporting our readers and to Jane Arochas for volunteering her time to help make it happen!

Mrs. Nonnemacher’s class at Petway Elementary School had the special privilege of welcoming Debbie Eisinger for one final science lesson on earthworms!
Mrs. Eisinger began by reading a fun and informative story that shared fascinating facts about earthworms and their importance to our environment. The lesson continued with a nonfiction book walk, highlighting key details and expanding the students’ understanding.
Next came the hands-on experience! Students became scientists as they observed live earthworms right on their desks—watching their movements, feeling their texture, and making real-time observations. For many, it was their very first time seeing worms up close, and the excitement was contagious!
To wrap up the lesson, students wrote four facts they had learned and displayed them on a balloon “worm” to take home—a creative trophy showcasing their new knowledge.
Science is always an adventure when Mrs. Eisinger visits! We are so grateful for her continued dedication to bringing hands-on learning to life in our classroom.

At Mennies Elementary School, Room 8’s future is so bright that they need shades! As part of their discussion on Portrait of a Graduate, students discussed and set goals for their futures. Each sunglass lens is an image of the two future goals that they have set for themselves.
On Friday, June 6th, district 5th grade Safety Patrol students attended the annual trip to Dutch Wonderland to celebrate and acknowledge all of their hard work this year. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed a day at the park and dinner! Students represented their advisors and Vineland Public Schools well. We would like to thank all the students for their commitment to Safety Patrol, all the advisors for their hard work, dedication, and support, and the Juvenile Unit from Vineland PD for their ongoing support and presence in our program, which is greatly appreciated by our students.
Dallago Preschool had Virtual Field Trip Day on June 13th. Ms.Siani’s preschool classroom celebrated by having a Virtual Field Trip to Walt Disney World! Students used their decorated magic bands to “scan” into the classroom and then received Celebratory Disney buttons along with a pair of Mickey ears of their choosing. The class experienced walking through Walt Disney World and going on “rides” using the Smart Board. After a day of exploring the “parks,” students were able to snack on Mickey Ice Cream bars and ended with the Happily Ever After Fireworks show.
The Vineland High School Athletic Department is excited to announce that we've teamed up with Complete Care to offer athletic physicals this summer through the WOW Van!
The van will be on-site Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5–7 PM, starting in July through early August, parked by the track lot during sports practices.

Little Lamb Preschool celebrated its Stepping Up Program over two days. Students, staff, and their families enjoyed watching their preschoolers sing, individually getting recognized for a year well done, cheering them on during their parade march, and then enjoying inflatable slides, Photo Booths, ice cream, and pizza!
Veterans Memorial Middle School peer leaders, dance team, and safeties gathered Thursday morning for an end-of-the-year celebration breakfast. Mrs. Kohansky and Ms. Galan are so proud of these students! Best of luck to all of the 8th graders heading to VHS. We know you will make us proud.
On Wednesday, June 4th, Vineland High School was represented at the NJ State Teen Arts Festival by our incredible Visual and Performing Arts students! Students spent the day taking workshops with industry professionals and performing their state-advanced numbers for adjudication. Visual Arts students had their advancing pieces critiqued and displayed in the art gallery at Middlesex College. We continue to be amazed by the talent of our VPA students and are so proud of them for working hard to reach this level of the festival each year!
Mennies School would like to give a huge thank you to Book Smiles and Ms. Jane for organizing an incredible book drop-off! Thanks to their generosity, each of our students received three books to keep and enjoy at home.
The excitement was contagious as students eagerly browsed and selected their favorite titles—many even began reading right away while waiting for their friends to finish choosing.

Loraine Griffiths’ Graphic Design 3 students at Vineland High School recently completed an exciting branding project centered around a local favorite: Wawa. As part of their unit on the difference between logos and full brand identity, juniors and seniors were tasked with rebranding the well-known convenience store for the next generation of customers. Students conducted in-depth research into Wawa’s history, mission, and target demographic, using their findings to design modernized logos and build cohesive brand toolkits. Each toolkit included original color palettes, typefaces, and guidelines to support their updated visual identity.
To bring their concepts to life, students created a wide range of mockups, applying their designs to real-world items such as coffee cups, billboards, and storefronts. The project culminated in a special visit on June 11 from Jason Read, Director of Store Operations at Wawa, who reviewed each student’s work and offered professional feedback.
“What began as a month-long classroom project to explore the differences between logos and branding evolved into an unforgettable real-world opportunity for my juniors and seniors,” said Griffiths. “This hands-on experience brought learning to life in a way that textbooks simply can’t replicate.”

Mennies 4th grade students are going places, and our National Parks are on their travel lists! For the past few months 4th grade students have been learning about our national park system. Through a federal initiative called Every Kid Outdoors, our nation’s fourth grade students earn a free pass to enjoy the National Parks and other historical sites.
During their library special class, Ms. Kreck and the 4th grade students participated in engaging lessons focused on important aspects of our parks. They learned how communities contribute to environmental science; how to be good stewards to the environment and how they can help protect federal lands and water; the difference between weather and climate; and about our Native American population that influenced the naming of federal lands and waters.
Each Mennies 4th grade student received their free parks pass today-just in time for summer. Their pass gives them free access to all national parks, lands, and waters through August 31, 2025. The pass admits all children under 16 and up to 3 adults for free. Students and their families are able to plan summer travel with their families using the sites everykidoutdoors.gov, fws.gov, discovertheforest.org, findyourpark.com and recreation.gov.
We are proud of their efforts in learning about our country, and look forward to hearing all about their adventures when they return in the Fall!
Another Tiny Tots Preschool field day is in the books! Our students were active and busy with bouncy houses, obstacle courses, water games, and a variety of other activities. With the end of the year quickly approaching, this field day was everything we needed to kick off the month of June.

On June 11th, the Class of 2027 brought the energy outside for a well-deserved Field Day! Hosted by class advisors, Ms. Maria Berezin and Ms. Katie Baker, students enjoyed the sunshine with a variety of activities, including soccer, football, and classic backyard games. The sound of music filled the air as students danced, laughed, and celebrated the end of the school year together.
Kona Ice joined the fun, serving up cool treats while giving back—25% of the day’s profits went directly to the Class of 2027 to support future trips and events. It was a great afternoon of community, fun, and fundraising success!
Ms.Woodward and Mrs. Almanzar’s classes from Sabater Elementary School enjoyed their community outing to Verona Custard! The students ordered their own sundaes.
