Beginning in September 2026, Vineland Public Schools will implement a bell-to-bell personal internet-enabled device policy in accordance with New Jersey law (P.L. 2025, c. 195).
Under the new policy, students in kindergarten through grade 12 may not use personal internet-enabled devices during the school day. This includes smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, smart glasses, and similar devices.
Students who bring a device to school must keep it turned off and stored in a locker or backpack for the entire school day, including during lunch and class transitions.
Students may use devices during supervised school-sponsored activities outside of the regular school day or when specifically authorized by school staff for an approved purpose.
Students with an approved device-related accommodation for a documented medical or health-related need may use their device in accordance with their individual plan.
These expectations support our continued commitment to creating a focused, respectful, and productive learning environment for all students.
Additional information regarding expectations and implementation will be shared with families prior to the start of the school year.
