For clarification purposes, Vineland Public Schools would like to provide additional information regarding the district’s participation in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) and the availability of free breakfast and lunch for all students beginning with the 2026-2027 school year.
The Community Eligibility Provision is a federally funded program that allows eligible school districts to provide breakfast and lunch at no cost to all enrolled students. Vineland Public Schools submitted an application to participate in the program and was approved based on the district’s qualifying student data, including the number of students eligible for free and reduced-price meals.
The district’s participation in CEP and the expansion of free breakfast and lunch are federally funded and are unrelated to changes in local school taxes. As a result of this approval, the district will receive a higher level of federal reimbursement for qualifying breakfast and lunch meals served to students.
Through the district’s participation in CEP, all Vineland Public Schools students will have access to breakfast and lunch at no cost during the school day.
We hope this clarification provides a better understanding of how the program is funded and how Vineland Public Schools was able to expand access to free school meals for all students.
