MEDICATION INFORMATION
Most medicines prescribed by physicians for colds, flus or sore throats
can be given at home around the student’s school hours. NO MEDICATION CAN BE GIVEN WITHOUT THE
WRITTEN CONSENT FROM A PHYSICIAN. THIS
INCLUDES ALL OVER-THE-COUNTER MEDICINES SUCH AS TYLENOL, ROBITUSSIN, MOTRIN,
OINTMENTS, NASAL SPRAYS, ETC. If it is
necessary to give medication during school, our district policy is as follows:
1.
Written
permission must be received from the physician to administer the medicine in
school. This must include the type of
medicine, dosage, time and reason for administration.
2.
Parental
consent must also be included on this permission slip.
3.
Medication
must be brought to school in a pharmacy labeled container or original container
if it is an over the counter medicine such as Tylenol, Motrin, etc.
4.
All
medicines are NOT to be transported by the student. A parent/guardian or adult must bring it to
the nurse’s office (or Main Office if the nurse is not there).
