Surveys: Parents, Students and Staff
Important Information for Parents, Guardians and Students
Absences
It is the policy of Winslow Elementary School to contact by phone
each absentee on the day of absence. If you wish to phone
in your child’s
absence, please call (856) 794-6973 and ask for the office.
Tardiness
On occasion your child may be late for school. When you arrive please
take your child to the office to let them know he/she has arrived. If it
is after 9:20 a.m., your child will receive a late pass and be
sent to the classroom.
Parent Advisory: Late Buses
Information for parents about late buses is now only a phone call away,
thanks to pre-recorded announcements available from the Vineland Public
Schools transportation department. The messages, which are updated twice daily, are available 24 hours
a day, according to Joseph Callavini, the district's School Transportation
Supervisor. To access the system, parents should call (856) 794-6700, press 8,
press 1 and then press 1 again.
Medicine
When your child must take medicine during school hours please have
the doctor write the information (doctor’s order) on letterhead
and supply the nurse with a separate bottle, marked appropriately
by the pharmacy, containing your child’s medicine. The nurse
WILL NOT administer medicine without the appropriately supplied information.
Emergency School Closing
School will be delayed or closed as a safety precaution when weather
conditions make travel extremely hazardous. If the closing of school
becomes necessary, announcements will be made over local radio and
TV stations. Listen to WVLT (92.1) on your radio for Vineland City
School closings.
