Welcome to Wallace Middle School

Since the opening of Thomas W. Wallace Jr. Middle School in September of 2006, our goal has been to continue to offer our students a curriculum rich with opportunities for academic achievement and personal growth. Administration and staff are committed to the academic and social success of each child and stThomas W. Wallace Jr. Middle Schoolrive to build and maintain a strong partnership with our school family: the staff, students, parents and our community.

Our curriculum has a heavy emphasis on Literature-Based Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. Art, Computer Literacy, Health and Physical Education, Music, Careers/Finances and World Language are stressed as well.

While presenting a rigorous academic program, each of our students is supported by membership in one of three Small Learning Communities. Each Small Learning Community is serviced by the guidance department, our school social worker and our district substance abuse counselor.

Our school building, designed by the Vineland architectural firm of Manders/Merighi Associates and constructed by Stanker & Galetto and Ray Angelini, has more than 100,000 square feet of space and provides 18 classrooms and other facilities for 650 students in grades 6-8.

In addition to the auditorium, the school also has a gymnasium with a polished wood floor, scoreboard and glass backboards, and a massive media center with floor to ceiling windows and a second-story view that calls to mind the academic core of a small to mid-size college or university.

Technology is evident not only in two laboratories, but throughout the building. There is a health suite with physician’s office-like exam rooms, a social services wing, and wide hallways that underscore the design emphasis on safety and ease of passage.
