About Our School
Vineland
High School - North (Grades 9 and 10) opened in September, 1976.
Now in its thirtieth year of service, VHS-North continues to provide
a comprehensive educational program to ninth and tenth grade students
in conjunction with Vineland
High School - South.
In addition
to the courses offered in our high school ranging from special needs
to honors/advanced placement, students are also afforded the opportunity
to take part in interscholastic sports, and extracurricular clubs.
Vineland High School North prides itself with such additional student
programs as: After School Assistance Program, Mathematics labs, After
School Mathematics Learning
Center, Peer
Mediation and Crisis Intervention, Substance Abuse Committee, Full Guidance
and Counseling Services,
Child Study Team services, After School Program for Chronically Disruptive/Disaffected
Students, and Alternative Program for Disaffected Students.
Vineland
High School has made dramatic revisions in its curriculum to assure
that students are challenged to meet the higher standards needed
to prepare students for the Twenty-first Century. In addition to
comprehensive programs of study in all standard academic areas, VHS
also provides students with the opportunity to excel in chosen elective
areas including world languages, applied
technology, business
and marketing education, art, choral
and instrumental music and home
economics.
Students
may elect programs of study at The Cumberland County Technical Education
Center and The Vineland Adult Center. An expansive School-to-Work
Program has been implemented to serve all students of the Vineland
School District.
The mission
of Vineland High School North will continue to reflect those ideals
of our District Mission Statement believing that all students can
learn, and will be provided such opportunities in a safe, caring
and professional environment. Indeed, Vineland High School offers
all students the opportunity to enhance their education at the levels
and areas of their abilities and choice. Our graduates are prepared
to continue their education at colleges, universities, and technical
schools; serve our country in the armed forces; join the work force
with competitive entry level job skills; and any other career choice
they may desire.
