Mission Statement: The School of Liberal Arts will provide a challenging broad-based curriculum that prepares individuals to live more kn
owledgably, contribute more responsibly, and interact more humanely in a society which continues to demand new solutions to complex problems.
Community Description: Liberal Arts studies are intended to provide the learner with a broad-spectrum of knowledge, while developing intellect. These skills are transferable and are a characteristic of a liberal arts education. Very simply, a liberal arts education is education for life; it will prepare students to adapt and thrive in an ever-changing world.
Goals:
Students will:
- obtain skills that will prepare them for a lifetime of thoughtful decision making;
- through a study of history and culture, understand the importance of being a life-long learner;
- gain an understanding of diverse societies;
- gain an understanding of issues critical to a changing world; and
- obtain skills that are desired by colleges and employers alike.
