Mission Statement: The School of Applied Technology will provide career readiness for students pursuing an experience in
a specialized field of technology. Here, the students focus their education on achieving academic excellence through their development in a career. The School of Applied Technology promotes learning, develops a strong work ethic, and prepares students for college or careers, while emphasizing the value of knowledge for personal empowerment.
Community Description: Many of the fastest growing occupations are in today's technology. Choose the School of Applied Technolgy if you are interested in jobs such as Computer Support Specialist, Systems Analyst, Automotive Technology Specialist, Drafting and Design, and Network Administrator. This community prepares students for internships in the exciting technology industry and work toward certification in Networking, Web Design, Auto Technology, and related fields. The School of Applied Technology is designed for students interested in accepting the challenge of developing quality skills; and developing quality training and skills in various areas of technology.
Goals:
Students will:
- have the opportunity to prepare for viable careers in various technology related areas such as Drafting and Design, Automotive Technology, Graphic Design/Printing, and Computer Network Technician;
- learn real world skills for employment and college;
- explore career options in technology related fields through instruction, advisories, mentorships, partnerships, and school-to-career opportunities;
- complete cross-curricular projects; and
- prepare for industry certification exams and future educational opportunities.
