Annual Little Folks Festival set for March 20 The event will be held at the Casimer M. Dallago Early Childhood Center, 301 S. West Boulevard. District plans to minimize impact of East Avenue construction VPS transportation and maintenance departments have been working with the City of Vineland Engineering Department to minimize the impact of East Avenue reconstruction on Cunningham School and district students who live in the area but attend other schools. The Vineland High School “Cap ‘n Dagger” club performed for three large audiences he show, based on a Disney Channel original movie, reminds young people to be themselves and follow their dreams. As in past performances, the months of practice was obvious as the cast members delivered their lines flawlessly, sang sweetly and danced with precision. Math 24 tournament set for Saturday at Petway School The tournament is divided into three rounds of play for grade 4 and four rounds for the grade 5 contestants. Students solve math problems on cards, using four numbers and any four of the mathematical operations, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, to make a final answer of 24. Read more

Students hear tale of WW II danger and survival Bill Hogan, tail gunner on a B-24 Liberator heavy bomber during World War II, told a harrowing tale of danger and survivor during a recent visit to Terry Kuhnreich's "Search for Conscience" classes at Vineland High School. Youth Art Month opening reception held March is Youth Art Month in NJ and the district’s elementary art teachers covered nearly every square inch of walls in the building with work from students in grades kindergarten through five.Read more

Rossi School will host 5th annual Academic Showcase Academic Showcase on Friday, March 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the school, 2572 Palermo Ave. "This night is set aside annually for students and their families to view our students’ finest work," said Mrs. Pamela English, coordinator. Read more

Three Vineland swimmers garner All-South Jersey honors Senior boys swimmers Jerry Capriotti and Bryan Masilotti, along with junior girl Lauren Carastro, were named to the South Jersey Interscholastic Swimming Association (SJISA) All-South Jersey team at the coaches' association's annual end-of-year awards meeting March 12, team coaches announced. Principal's list for 2nd marking period announced Vineland Public Schools today released the list of the students in grades 3-12 who earned Principal's List honors for the second marking period. To achieve this distinction, high school students must have a grade-point average of 3.75 or above. In elementary and middle schools, students must have all A's. Read more

VHS boys swimmers excel at Meet of Champions The Vineland High School boys swim team ended its season on a successful note this past weekend, notching six top-10 finishes at the NJSIAA Individual State Swimming Championships at the Gloucester County Institute of Technology in Sewell, said team coaches. Hearts for Haiti fundraiser at VHS A school wide project, "Hearts for Haiti", was recently conducted at Vineland High School South, assisted by the Key Club, said Denise Gavigan, club advisor. Read more

Meteorologist, author visits Mennies School Carol Erickson, a meteorologist at Philadelphia TV station CBS 3 and also an author, was a guest speaker/reader at Mennies Elementary School on Tuesday. Erickson read a book she recently published about adopting shelter animals entitled “Not a Used Dog at All.” Read more

All South Jersey Orchestra Three student musicians from Vineland Public Schools have qualified through competitive audition to perform on Jan. 10 with the All South Jersey Junior and Senior high School Orchestra at Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees, said Craig Phillips, district string ensemble director. S.T.E.P.S. for Kids program resumes January The Success through Exercise, Physical Fitness and Sharing Information (STEPS) for Kids program will resume classes at Wallace Middle School on Jan. 9, according to Shelley Cohen, Garden AHEC Director at South Jersey Health Systems. Read more
