Dear Petway Patriot Families,     

  

We are delighted to welcome our new and returning families as we continue our journey together to provide the best education possible at Petway Elementary School.   Petway School is proud to be a twice-named National School of Character as a result of our commitment to character education.  Our staff is dedicated to providing exceptional learning opportunities for all our Petway Patriots. 

 

Petway's mission is to create an educational community to foster collaboration among staff, parents and community, and to promote a safe, respectful environment for all to achieve academically, personally and socially. We are commited to prepare our students to be well-rounded, independent learners who display the qualities of good citizenship and who will succeed in furture academic and personal endeavors.  We do this through standard-based rigorous instruction delivered with care and compassion.

 

Petway's Pathway to Patriot Pride program is at the heart of our school. The Pathway to Patriot Pride program focuses on connections.  Children need to find connections to others and to feel themselves as members of many groups (connecting to school, peers and the greater community).  These connections and responsibilities need to be taught.  We do this by focusing on ten character traits to improve students’ social, emotional and academic competencies.  The Pathway is a way of thinking and acting that allows individuals to feel accepted, valued and safe.

 

The past two years have been very challenging.  Petway staff is prepared and eager to educate your children safely throughout this school year. I am looking forward to providing our Patriots with an engaging and enjoyable educational experience.  As always, let’s work together to make this school year the best ever for your child.
