GoodSearch: You Search...We Give!

Welcome to the web site of Petway Elementary School in Vineland, New Jersey!  Our beautiful new school opened its doors to meet and greet the wonderful Petway Patriots on September 11, 2006.  Our sparkling new facility holds four classrooms of each grade from Kindergarten through Grade 5.  In addition, we have three self-contained Special Education classes.

Our curriculum consists of heavy emphasis on Literature-based Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. At the same time, we include a focus on Health and Physical Education, Art, Music, Library, Skills for Growing, World Language, and Computer Literacy.  In addition to our rigorous academic program, our staff is actively involved in a “team approach” to encourage excellent behavior, manners and character skills in our “Petway Patriots”.

Many support services are provided for our children.  We are proud of the extensive additional programs offered to help children in need such as: Elementary Guidance, Substance-Abuse Counseling, Crisis Team, Peer Mediation, Intervention & Referral Service, Child Study Team Services, and Speech Therapy.

Petway teachers and staff believe in "Children first". We acknowledge the individual differences in our children and work hard to deliver the best foundation education for all of our students.

  • MAKE SCHOOL The NUMBER ONE PRIORITY. Limit extracurricular activities.
  • Make sure your child is in school when it is in session. Schedule hair cuts, dentists visits and vacation when school is out.
  • Ensure your child is well rested.
  • Make sure homework is completed properly.
  • Check assignment notebook and book bags every night.
  • Provide a nutritious breakfast. Free or reduced breakfast and lunch programs are available.
  • Engage your child in conversation about school with a question like, "What did you learn in math today?" or "Tell me three things you learned in school today." Don't accept one word answers like "nothing" or "fine."
  • Establish a place and a quiet time for doing homework.
  • Support school and teachers with a positive attitude.
