The Sgt. Dominick Pilla School Dedication is now available to view in its entirety on our YouTube channel at the link below. The dedication, which took place on Saturday, April 6, officially changed the school’s name from Lincoln Avenue Middle School to honor Pilla, an Army Ranger who gave his life at age 21 while serving his country in Somalia. He was a 1990 Vineland High School graduate.
The dedication featured an 85-motorcycle procession and the landing of a Black Hawk helicopter on the school’s playground. Several local dignitaries, district and school board members, and Pilla’s family spoke during the ceremony to a crowd of over 800 people.
