Working Together for a Bright Future

Message from Superintendent Alfonso Llano

To the Members of the Vineland Community:

Over the past 24 hours, I have reviewed data from the VPS community reporting significant numbers of essential staff needing to quarantine or isolate due to COVID cases and close contacts. Specifically, 76 staff members are covid positive, and an additional 19 staff members are on quarantine. These numbers represent the last two days of reporting for Vineland. Substitute coverage is limited.

Based on the COVID-related staffing issues, we intend to provide virtual instruction to all students starting Tuesday, January 4th. The leadership team decided to pivot into virtual instruction in consultation with the Health Department and the County Superintendent.

On Wednesday, we anticipate some relief as staff members complete isolation or quarantine in time for the district's reopening. If necessary, the number of days VPS remains virtual beyond Tuesday may be amended, depending on staffing levels.

PLEASE reach out to your child's teachers with questions about their classes or schedule.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
