Youth Art Month 2008
Friday, March 14th, Dr. Mennies School hosted the 10th Annual Youth Art Month. The halls were lined with creative and beautiful art work done by our Vineland Public School students in grades K to 4. The artwork was representing the following schools: Barse, D'Ippolito, Durand, Johnstone, Mennies, Petway, Sabater and Winslow. Not only are our students talented, but our art teachers are too! Special thanks to the following art teachers: Nancy Curley, Lisa LaRosa, Cynthia Doulis, Raye LaValley, Lisa Kaler-Ahmad, Kristin McMackin, Cynthia Scharnagl, and Kara Macon-Rehm.
It was extremely well attended, as all of the Youth Art Month receptions have been. There were over 2,500 people who came....parents, students, teachers, administrators, board members, political figures and community members. In addition to the artwork, there were musical presentations by our elementary schools, including Dr. Mennies. Our Fine Arts Club presented musical selections from "Aladdin"....this year's FAC program.
