Notes from the Office

Here are some important tips from the Dr. Mennies' Office:

Our school hours are 9:05 am to 3:40 pm. All elementary schools in Vineland have the same hours.

 Children may not be dropped off before 8:40 am. 

  If your child is a car rider for dismissal, you must follow our dismissal procedure.  Your child should have a note stating that he/she is a car rider.  Dismissal time is 3:40 pm.  You must join the single lane of traffic in the driveway.  You may not park your car and come into the school to get your child.  Your child will dismissed to you by Mr. Kenny based upon the order of traffic. 

There is a sign-in sheet in the main lobby of Mennies School. You must sign in, speak to the security person at the desk, and get a visitor's pass before you can pick up any child or see any teacher. Please be prepared to show photo identification such as a valid driver's license. 

New automated Mennies' number:  When you call Mennies School, you will get an automated message instead of a secretary. The message will also be translated in Spanish. You will hear a menu: dial 1 for Mennies' school announcements, dial 2 for the Mennies' office, dial 4 for the nurses' office, dial 5 for the guidance office, dial 6 for the social worker, dial 7 for the cafeteria, dial 8 for the child study team, and dial 9 for the Spanish translation. If you want to leave a message for your child's teacher, you may dial the voice mail extension listed in the table below. The teacher will get back to you as soon as possible.

Transportation Tip:  There is a late-running bus message center. Should your child's bus be running late one day, please call 794-6700, then press 8, press 1, and press 1 again.

Pick up time:  Please be reminded that dismissal time is 3:40. Should you need to pick up your child earlier, i.e. a doctor's appointment, send in a note to the teacher who will send it to the office. Sign in at the lobby with security, then check in at the office. They will page your child, and you can pick him/her up in the lobby area. Please do not go down to the classrooms.

Contacting your child's teacher:  There are two ways you can contact your child's teacher--by e-mail and by phone. Since your child's teacher cannot interrupt her/his teaching during the day, you can leave a voice mail and the teacher will get back to you. Below is a list of the Mennies' staff with their voice mail extensions and their e-mail addresses. Instructional aides can be contacted through e-mail or through the classroom teacher with whom they work.
