This month is "Random Acts of Kindness" and the Youth to Youth club has worked on the February Student and Family Project. They want to spread hashtags of Kindness throughout the building. These hashtags will be printed and shared throughout the building. The due date for this month's project is February 25th.

Our December Student and Family Project is focused on our Pilla Pillar of Kindness. The project is called "Sprinkle Snowflakes of Kindness This Holiday Season." We are asking students and families to create a snowflake with a word, phrase, hashtag, or sentence that shows kindness. We will print out the snowflakes and hang them around the building. Our November Student and Family Project is all about thankfulness! We are asking students and families to write what they are thankful for on a fall leaf.  The leaves will be printed and displayed on a Pilla Thankfulness Tree in the hallway.  The submission date for all leaves will be on November 23rd. The Start Strong test will be administered  to students starting October 4-6 during first and second period.  Student attendance and  promptness to school is extremely important. Make-ups for students absent on test days will be scheduled for the week after.

Please read and accept the Macbook Agreement if your student has borrowed a Macbook for this school year. Please review the Macbook Handbook before accepting.

Students entering 6th grade  who are 11 years old and NEW 7th & 8th students 11 years or older coming to Pilla Middle School are required by NJ State Health Department, to receive a Tdap and Meningococcal vaccine in order to enter school.

This means that 6th graders and the previous mentioned older students  may not begin school on the first day if they cannot show proof of these... (cont'd)

Please read the attached document concerning the pick up of students during the school day.  Emergency contacts may not pick students up unless they have a note that day stating that from the parent or guardian each time they come.  Also, students must be picked up before 2:20 pm because the office and the car line get hectic with dismissal procedures.
