GEAR UP is a federal grant program through which students may obtain scholarships based on eligibility criteria established by the Vineland Education Association and administered by Vineland Public Schools.

Scholarship Criteria
Summary of criteria for scholarship eligibility
- Accrue a 3.0 cumulative GPA through the third marking period of the senior year (see policy)
- Have no more than twelve (12) (latenesses) per year in high school (grades 9 -12) (see policy)
- Have no more than twelve (12) unexcused absences per year in high school (grades 9 – 12 ) (see policy)
- Have no more than one (1) discipline infraction per year in high school (grades 9 – 12) at the level of out of school suspension (see policy)
- Demonstrate involvement in at least one extra curricular activity per year while in high school (grades 9 – 12)
- Demonstrate participation in some community service while in high school. Examples of community service would include: volunteering to babysit, collecting food for a food bank, volunteering in your place of worship. This is not an annual requirement for each year in high school. Rather, the community service requirement must occur at some time during the high school career. (grades 9 – 12) and be attested to by the agency or person for whom the community service was rendered.
