I am the Building Level Technology Coordinator for Cunningham Elementary School and South Vineland Kindergarten Center. Part of my job is to help make sure all technology is maintained and in working order. However, the most important part of my job is to help integrate technology throughout the curriculum. The more we share ideas with each other, the better our schools will be. Our 'students need to become critical consumers of information.' (Canter, 2002, Program 8) Cunningham and South Vineland Schools are constantly striving to instill in our students the value of life-long learning. Finding, evaluating, and using information are critical parts of being a life-long learner. The technology provided by the Vineland Public Schools can be a valuable learning tool for practicing these skills. As educators, it is our duty to continue to find new ways to integrate the available technology into the curriculum to enhance our students learning in ways never before possible.

Mission Statement  My mission is to empower the students in my schools with the ability to use technology as a learning tool. I will work with my administrators and fellow teachers to promote the integration of technology throughout the curriculum by providing timely, patient, and empathetic support. I will consistently encourage students and teachers to find new ways to use the available technology to enhance the learning process. I believe that technology is an important and ever changing part of our lives. In order to effectively use existing and evolving technologies, one must first be comfortable with them and have a basic understanding of them. An important first step in developing that comfort level and understanding is learning how to use technology as a learning tool. By providing superior technical and curricular support to educators and students, I have the ability to facilitate that process in a meaningful and memorable way. By carefully following my mission statement, I will help students gain the confidence to use technology in their lives. |
