Vineland High School Red Cross Club Honored

The Vineland High School Red Cross club was recently honored by the Philadelphia/Southeast Penn: Rajan Kaur, Sonal Puri, Benjamin Malaga, Jenny Paterno, and Glorybeth Rivera.sylvania Regional Red Cross Association for increasing its blood donations by 123 percent from the previous year.

The award was presented at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Vijeta Limbekar, a 2006 graduate now attending Boston University, played a key role in the club increasing its contribution, according to Dorothy Burke, VHS South Principal.

Limbekar has continued to encourage VHS students to donate blood.  “The world needs your safe blood more than ever,” stated Limbekar.  “Our donor programs in America are second to none.  However, the need for blood is worldwide and it is in constant demand.  Today’s youth has to do our part in helping others to survive.”

Also participating in the award presentation were Rajan Kaur, Sonal Puri, Benjamin Malaga, Jenny Paterno, and Glorybeth Rivera. 

VHS South is holding another blood drive Friday, Nov. 30, 2007 in the gymnasium from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
