Business Leaders Donate Funds to Save Landis School Trip

The end-of-the-year trip for sixth graders to the Cape May Zoo today was nearly cancelled because of unexpected transportation costs, said Donald Kohaut, Landis Principal.

School staff reached out to representatives of local businesses, who quickly agreed to close the funding gap and save the trip.

These “heroes” included Matt Milam, Foundry Service Corporation; Carl Kirstein, Lerco Fuel Company; David Hanrahan, Sr., President and Chief Executive Officer, and Denise Zemanik, Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager, Capital Bank; and Dave Hemple, President, and Jane Rosmini, Branch Manager, Century Bank, plus a contributor who wished to remain anonymous.

“Some of our children may never get to go to the Cape May Zoo,” said Kohaut. “These folks are truly heroes. They didn’t have to step up and save the trip, but they did. On behalf of everyone at Landis Intermediate School we want to thank them for their generosity. People like these make the world a brighter place.”
