Middle School Students to Present Jungle Book

Middle school students from Vineland Public Schools will perform “The Jungle Book” March 8, 9 and 10 at Landis Middle School, with curtain time all three days at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $7 and are available at the door, from any cast member, or by calling the school at (856) 794-6925.

The play is directed by Mark Melamed, a teacher at Veterans Memorial School and veteran theatrical producer.

The show is inspired by Rudyard Kiplings "Mowgli" story. Mowgli is a boy who has been raised by wolves in the Indian jungle. During his delightful and scary adventures with a series of wild creatures, Mowgli learns he must leave the jungle and be what nature intended him to be -- a man.

Cast members include: Matthew Wolfe as Mowgli; Alyssa Maurice as Bagheera; Ali Munoz as Baloo; Darren Tomasso as Shere Khan; Andy Rivera as King Louie; Kaitlyn Browne-Torpey as Shanti; Andrew Nelson as Colonel Elephant; Marina Ernst as Mrs. Elephant; Caitlin Geisser as Baby Elephant/Kaa; Rachel Bernhardt as Kaa 2; Savannah Koerner as Kaa 3; Allison Beres as Kaa 4; Dana Maffei, Erica McCracken, Stephanie Metcalf, Destiny Rivera as Monkeys; and Andy Rivera, Ruben Munoz, Jr., Destiny Rivera, Dana Maffei as Vultures. The chorus includes Danielle Sileo, Siani Sanchez, Courtney Nealis, Nicolette Kelley, Felicia Mainiero, Juli Crescenzo, Samantha Garcia, Doris Torres, Yalexus Nunez, Brian Godfrey, Giovanna Crescenzo, Isaiah Kent, Erika Soto, Irene Zulla, and Michael Kobriger.
