Homecoming Day Activities at VHS

Vineland High School will celebrate its 57th annual Homecoming Day Ceremonies Friday at the VHS-Oakcrest football game at Gittone Stadium.

The event is sponsored by the VHS Monogram Club, established in 1950 by Anthony DiTomo, former VHS Athletic Director.

A parade will kick off the festivities beginning at 6 p.m. The participants will assemble in the front horseshoe of the Landis School.  The procession will go out of the school’s driveway onto Landis Avenue, make a right on West Avenue, then a right on to Montrose Terrace, and continue to the stadium, where it will be greeted by the VHS cheerleaders.

At halftime, Miss Monogram will be crowned from a field of five contestants.  Voting for this year’s Miss Monogram included teachers, staff and all senior homerooms. The halftime ceremonies to honor this year’s Miss Monogram and their escorts will be presented by the Vineland High School Marching Clan under the direction of Mr. William McDevitt. Ms. Dorothy Burke, Principal of Vineland High School South, will present Miss Monogram contestants with their awards.

The contestants, in alphabetical order, and their escorts, are:

  1. Alexandra Adel escorted by: Harry Longini

  2. Framary DeLaCruz escorted by: Hassan Williams
