Breakfast Fundraiser Helps Project Graduation
A steady stream of diners enjoyed a full course breakfast and exceptional
service from students and volunteers at Sunday’s b
reakfast to benefit
Project Graduation.
The event was held in the cafeteria of VHS South.
Project Graduation is a free, all-night drug and alcohol-free party for seniors to celebrate their high school commencement threatened by state funding cuts. School, district and community groups are striving to raise the $50,000 necessary to continue the event.
The project received an unexpected boost when Frank Giordano and Allan Bernardini presented a check for $700 from funds remaining after their winning school board election campaign with Thomas Ulrich.
Among the volunteers at the event were Michael Barruzza, Cumberland County Sheriff and members of his department, including Ernie Escobar. Also helping out in the kitchen was state Sen. Nicholas Asselta, John Provenzano, district director of security, and Mrs. Karla Holt, food services director.
