Winslow Elementary School got off to a quick start with its September Anti-Violence/Anti-Bullying Program. The students shown in the accompanying photo are the top prize winners of the Poster Contest from grades two through five.
These students are now considered the “Bully Busters” who help watch over any in-fighting in their classrooms. All students choose a “Stand Up Buddy;” and were taught how to help each other work through issues, try to understand each other’s feelings and moods, remind their friend of the school’s rules, practice the importance of manners, telling the truth, working through a problem, forgiveness, and finally; how and where to get adult assistance when needed.
