We are located at the Dr. George Cunningham Alternative School on East Avenue in Vineland, NJ.

The Cunningham Alternative School accepts a select group of students within the district who may be experiencing personal or academic challenges that prevent them from reaching their full potential and/or succeeding at the high school or middle school level.

Our goal is to modify the student’s previously non-productive behaviors so that the student may transition back to their home school and to be successful in moving forward as productive members of society.

We work to rehabilitate each student by offering a safe learning environment supported by an advocacy program, and a wide range of diverse activities. We have found that certain activities promote rapid positive growth in our students’ behaviors.

If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact Mr. Di Costanzo and or Mr. Sammons during normal school hours.

Thank you.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Vineland Public Schools is based upon the conviction that all students can learn. This is based upon their exposure to curriculum and instruction that addresses the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards (NJCCCS) at all grade levels. We recognize that learning is the result of a strong partnership of parents, teachers and the community, as students are challenged to become active participants in the quest for excellence.

Our goal is to ensure a safe, creative, stimulating and caring environment which promotes self-esteem, sound character, responsibility and respect for diversity. This will enable students to become knowledgeable, skillful, life-long learners who are contributing citizens in our changing society.

We expect the best from our students and will give no less of ourselves.
